Generally you don’t want to have too many views side by side as that takes up space and adds visual clutter. Just open enough to get the job done efficiently.
When you’re reorganizing information and want to move some of it from one page to another, you can partition the screen by putting views side by side for a more efficient experience.
For partition areas containing views of objects, you’d typically want a partition wide enough to show the most important columns, usually the category and the description columns. For partition areas containing grids, it’s best if the partition is wide enough to show all the columns of the page.
A grid shouldn’t have too many columns. It should have just enough rows and columns to display information in one glance. Do not let the page become a dumping ground.
